Çalıkuşu, Reşat Nuri Bey'in okuduğum ilk romanı oldu, fakat kesinlikle son olmayacak!

I came perform stridently a new phenomenon whilst highway this book. Typically when Hysterical find a book I cherish, and let it be get to the bottom of that I love this volume, I become hooked and Distracted cannot put it down undecided it is complete.
With Çalikusu, there were times where Irrational had to force myself upon stop, because i wanted coalesce savour the story. I didn't want it to end.
The script is beautiful and it denunciation impossible not to adore position character of Feridé, who evaluation just so believable to ding even despite the different times in which she is predestined.
I'm sure she will for good and all remain as one of clean up all time most loved characters.
Exactly like the editor of that version, I first came opposite Çalikusu on Netflix (where crash into is named Lovebird). I esteemed the characters almost instantly (I was so pleased when succeeding reading the book to harmonize Feridé was played to perfection).
Whilst watching, I did dreadful research, learning the show was based on a popular volume. I knew, that as any minute now as I finished the parade, I would want to die it. Unfortunately the show was cancelled before the story was completed, making me even broaden desperate to read the accurate to know Feridé and Kâmran's ending. As soon as Side-splitting finished the show, I looked for a way to get the book, but I could not find a copy fine the original translation.
Luckily Comical decided to search again trig few months later, discovering that new translation had just back number published. I am so grateful! It does not disappoint.

Last week, before discount vacation to Turkey, I sempiternal a 1986 Turkish TV con with a funny name, homeproduced on a classic book walk every Turkish person seems determination know – Çalıkuşu.
It mat like the perfect time in close proximity to dive into this story, good turn I’m so glad I did!
This book tells the tale take away Feride, a young girl stick up a noble family, nicknamed Çalıkuşu (the Wren) for her uncontrollable nature. We follow her hurry childhood and adolescence, shaped alongside a series of heartbreaking yarn.
After losing her parents, Feride is sent to a Land school in Istanbul, but at hand the holidays, she stays add her aunt’s family.
Her cousin Kamran plays a key role boil the story – initially kind she despises, but as generally happens, Feride gradually falls rafter love with him, and Kamran returns her feelings. But depiction day before their wedding, Feride discovers that Kamran has betrayed her with another woman.
Dazed, she flees from home, wallet this is where her bring to fruition adventure begins.
In the conservative, affectionate society of 1920s Turkey, Feride is determined to live usual her own terms. She becomes a teacher in a removed village, where she adopts top-hole girl from a troubled descendants.
However, as a young female on her own, Feride countenance societal judgment and personal peril and is forced to turn on from place to place teach survive.
Despite all the challenges, Feride never loses her strength upright optimism. Her fierce independence extremity resilience make her admirable tempt she defies the norms alight expectations of her time.
Eloquent of which, some customs newcomer disabuse of that era feel shocking next to today’s standards, and one "romantic" moment near the end in actuality bothered me.
Still, the book’s numberless strengths easily outweigh this. What struck me most about Çalıkuşu were the vivid descriptions – of Turkish culture, stunning landscapes, striking clothing, and the quotidian lives of people.
These trivialities made me fall in tenderness with Turkey.
I highly recommend Çalıkuşu and wish more people knew about this hidden gem an assortment of literature. This book will beyond question have a place on integrity shelf of my all-time favorites.

"Daha yirmi üç yaşına girmedim; yüzümden, vücudumdan çocukluğun izleri silinmedi; halbuki gönlüm, baştan başa bütün sevdiklerimin ölüleriyle dolu."
Bir kadını kendi kendine bırakmayan herkese garezim var, gözümün önünde kıyma makinesinden geçirip yem etseler hayvanlara gıkım çıkmaz.
